People aren’t patient. I used to make long videos that slowly reach a crescendo - this still works at festivals where the audience is trapped but not on Tiktok or portfolios. You have to put the action right up front.

Right now I’m upgrading this portfolio and that means taking all my Youtube videos and turning them into short digestible looping gifs.

I used to resent this! Sometimes I still do. Can’t you just WAIT 5 SECONDS for the video to start??? But have some empathy for the tiktok user. There is so much crap on there and you quickly can tell if something is good or not. What is so precious about delaying the good part? Why do I want my viewers to way 5 minutes?

Just get to it and don’t waste their time.
