100. a portfolio is for “S-Tier” work

when you look at an animator’s portfolio, you very quickly can tell if they’re good, great or bleh. So it’s important to put your A++++++ work up front! This means killing some darlings.

Today I’ve been slashing away at my portfolio and turning videos into gifs for an easier watching experience. Doing this focuses me - my new work must be top notch, planned and designed to look amazing.

Oh I’ll still be making longer and more experimental work but the stuff on the portfolio has got to cut through the noise and say “I’m a star!”
